Ninety per cent of business success is in the mind. How many times have you, or people you know, put in massive action and got nowhere?
I’m sure you also know people who are relaxed, confident and never seem to do anything, yet are extraordinarily successful.
Mindset is the key.
Of all the things you need to have in order to be successful in business, mindset is one of the most important. So, what is the right mindset and why is it so important?
As an entrepreneur; you are responsible for everything, you are the solution finder, you are courageous, you implement new ideas and follow through on these ideas, you are a risk taker, you have a positive attitude, you have personal power, you are prepared to do whatever it takes and you are a massive action taker.
The transition from being an employee to becoming an entrepreneur can be a difficult process for some. It is not unlike the metamorphosis from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. The caterpillar has to stop being a caterpillar in order to become a butterfly.
And, like the caterpillar, the employee has to stop being an employee in order to be an entrepreneur.
It truly takes a metamorphosis of thinking to transition from the employee way of thinking to the thinking required of an entrepreneur. The employee is required to just has to show up, do their assigned job and hold their hand out for their pay check.
The entrepreneur emerges from the cocoon of a safe and secure job to an uncertain world where nothing is taken for granted.
The struggle that takes place within the cocoon prepares and strengthens the wings of the butterfly so that it can emerge and make its way in a suddenly wide and wonderful world.
The struggle that the employee may go through when wanting to leave the “safety and security” of the job may include; fear of the unknown, fear of change and concern over what their friends and family will think.
Will I be successful, will I make the right choice, where will I find the right resources, how do I get all my questions answered and where can I get help and support, are all reasonable questions for the would-be entrepreneur to ask.
Overcoming these fears and getting the help and support you need will strengthen your resolve, make you ready to be in business, and get you to start thinking like a business owner.
