The Global Amount Of Fixed Broadband Connection Will Reach 720 Million In 2015

According to the report by market research company Analysys Mason, the global amount of fixed broadband connection is going to reach 500 million at the end of 2010 and 720 million at the end of 2015 which occupies 62% of the total amount of broadband connection.

The developed areas including central Europe, east Europe, part of Asia Pacific areas, North America and West Europe has limited growing opportunities in new business. This company predicts that the amount of the fixed broadband connection of the above areas will increase at the rate of 3.9%. In contrast, the burgeoning areas including Central America, Latin America, emerging Asia Pacific markets, the Middle East, North Africa and Africa areas south of Sahara will have the increasing rate of 13.7%.

The senior analyst of Analysys Mason and the author of this report who are in charge of this fixed broadband research Martin Scott pointed that, developed areas still occupies the most part of fixed broadband retail revenue, but the increase will appear in the burgeoning areas.

At the same time, the increasing rate in Middle America and Latin America is the highest all over the world. But, the new rising Pacific Asia market will rank first in the pure increment of broadband, from the 117 million at the end of 2009 to 250 million at the end of 2015. Scout said that, by 2015, the fixed broadband retail revenue in burgeoning areas will occupies 28.5% of the global revenue, which is 17.2% higher than that of 2009. At the end of 2009, the amount in developed areas took up 67% of the whole world and this figure will decrease to 54% at the end of 2015.

In addition, the increase of fixed broadband in Middle East and North Africa is also predictable. The development of broadband will have a bright future.
