I have ever known a person who have brought up the thought of changing to self-employment throughout their lives, however, he did not gather the braveness to take the plunge. So why? 1. The ability to take calculated risk – entrepreneurship is almost synonymous with risk. However, this is not a wild risk such as gambling, but a calculated one. In other words, the entrepreneur is adventurous in his or her business, convinced that the investment will pay off based on his or her own estimate.

 

2. The ability to innovate – innovation is another term that you will find closely associated with entrepreneurship. The entrepreneur is generally a path breaker, one who does not fear to be different, who loves to “try out” new ways, new things, new horizons.

 

3. The ability to lead – entrepreneurs are almost always leaders from birth. They are those who intuitively gravitate into the commanding position in a group of people. They have charismatic, lovable and at the same time inspiring personalities.

 

4. The ability to persevere against all odds – “path breaker”, “innovator”, “risk taker” – these are all terms associated with the possibility of failure. To friends and relatives the initial stages often look like a well-orchestrated suicide. Nevertheless, the entrepreneur knows better. The have they ability to stay on the chartered course, even when others tell them “it would not work”.

 

5. The ability to believe in success – it is not that successful entrepreneurs never face major obstacles; rather, that they never get deterred by them. Successful entrepreneurs believe that if fate gives them lemons, they need to sell lemonade. The entrepreneur is all about the focus and taking action as they come. It cannot be over emphasized that getting around like-minded people also the key for success.
