Capital Gate overshadows the tower of Pisa

Recently, Guinness World Records has certified Capital Gate tower in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates as the ‘World’s Furthest Leaning Manmade Tower’. With the investment funding of about $ 2.1 billion, the tower is owned and developed by ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company). The 160-metre, 35-storey Capital Gate tower has been built to lean 18 degrees westwards which is fourfold the leaning degree of Pisa in Italy. However, Pisa leans naturally while Capital Gate is a deliberately leaning tower. The tower was designed to lean from the 12 floor onwards. When its construction finishes at the end of 2010, Capital Gate will house the 5 Star ‘Hyatt Capital Gate’, as well as 20,000sqm of the most exclusive office space in Abu Dhabi. Below are some images of the imposing Capital Gate:

Capital Gate forms the focal point of capital centre.

Capital Gate comprises 23 towers including branded hotels, commercial buildings, residential and serviced apartment complexes and developments for mixed use.

Pisa tower is at the risk of being overshadowed by Capital Gate.

The natural leaning is the most outstanding feature of Pisa in comparison with Capital Gate.
