Entrepreneurship and Organization Management

OMICS journal of entrepreneurship is the publication that informs management and start-up professionals about entrepreneurial developments across the globe. Some of the notable entrepreneurs are Michael Dell of Dell Corporation, Malcolm Forbes, the publisher of Forbes magazine, and several other researchers.

Howard Stevenson defined entrepreneurship as the pursuit of opportunity, regardless of the resources they have in their possession. Several entrepreneurs are categorized as passionate and dreamy; while others are labeled as creative entrepreneurs. Like John Hawkins, who had a bent of prioritizing ideas over data, other management pioneers were inspired by this approach. According to Peter Drucker, an entrepreneur exploits opportunities and capitalizes on changes.

In more recent times, the term entrepreneur also refers to someone taking initiative and coming up with novice suggestions for overall corporate well-being. Various forms of research conducted on entrepreneurial skills do not draw rigid conclusions about the traits but there is a major agreement when it comes to banking over an opportunity and the overall personality traits.

Entrepreneurship and organization management are associated, as an entrepreneur is at the helm of an entity. Organization management relies on behavior analysis of the concerned individuals and performance management, and the behavior of teams and group dynamics also plays a vital role.

Organizational studies concentrate on the way individuals play a role in the organization and the underlying activities to form teams for the completion of duties and contributing to the organization as a whole. These phenomena also play a vital role in interpersonal relationships in the firm. The culture of an organization also diversifies as a result of employees from different backgrounds co-existing as part of a single entity.

The overall culture in an organization can be described by four parameters, according to the Daniel Denison model. These include mission, involvement, adaptability and consistency. The management of organizations is dictated by its components, inputs, formal and informal arrangements, in addition to individuals. Managers need to collect data on organizational performance, identify lapses, develop action plans and judge the effectiveness of solutions. This approach requires the sense of the types of issues that might be encountered at various levels.

The behavior of the peers and subordinates also influences the decision-making and other strategic effects. Mental programs are run for organizations in cross-cultural entities like regional offices and overseas development centers.

The Operations Research approach to organization management was advocated by the management science school, which concentrated on problem-solving through probability and statistics technique. The methodology is also based on the model of interdisciplinary systems.
The organizational climate is also a major component as the cognitive schema approach for assessing organizational climate. From this perspective climate is assessed at the individual level. The studies carried by Dr Dennis Rose have found close association between organization climate, absenteeism and commitment levels. Others like Bedell have alternate approach to the study of organizational management.

The impact of human resource strategies is large on personnel administration. There are several scholars who had come up with key theories in this discipline; and these include Emile Durkheim and Gustava Le Bon.

The OMICS Publishing Group, based in the US, aims at sharing scientific knowledge by publication of research articles in journals, organizing international conferences, and developing eBooks for free availability of knowledge to the scientific learners and researchers.
