Then they begin to tape the pieces together to see if they fit with each other. They keep tweaking along the way to make everything fit. Once they have a taped together model made from cardboard paper they begin to cut pieces of leather material to match the paper pieces. Typically the pattern makers work on one section at a time. After all sections are complete they are all sewn together.
The next step is to pull the golf bag inside out. This is done so that you are not looking at the stitched side of the material. Once you have turned everything inside out a base is riveted onto the bottom of the bag. Then the top of the bag is attached or riveted on. However, the golf bag still has no structure. So, now rods are inserted into seams in the leather. They are rammed to the bottom of the bag and then bent into place so they fit under the top that has been put on the leather golf bag. They rods are sized to be very snug. This is what finally gives the bag its structure and shape.
