Make capital of opportunities to do business in the Welsh capital

Few cities anywhere in the UK have been more in the spotlight in recent years than Cardiff. As the base of the new Welsh Assembly government, and the beneficiary of massive investment to develop the area around Cardiff Bay, the city has taken on a new vibrancy, which has made the people of Wales once again proud of their capital city.

Although it is in ‘another country’, Cardiff benefits from very easy access from large parts of the rest of the UK. It is less than three hours’ drive from London along the M4 motorway, while much of the rest of England also has easy access via the M5. Cardiff is also a well-established rail hub, and is served by freight terminals which receive services from all parts of the UK. The city also has Wales’ only international airport, 10 miles west of the city centre.

The city attracts workers from all over south Wales, 40 per cent of the total workforce commuting into the city from the once heavily industrialised Welsh valleys and towns located to both the east and west and easily accessed by the main railway line and motorway.

Cardiff was one of the main centres of the UK’s coal and steel-making capability, but as these industries declined, investment was made in infrastructure to handle freight arriving from further afield. The city’s port, known as Tiger Bay, is growing once again, and handled more than three million tons of cargo in 2007.

Financial and insurance companies have a heavy presence in Cardiff, either through major regional headquarters or large customer contact centres. The commercial revival of the city has brought greater interest in its tourist attractions, while the Millennium Stadium is Wales’ foremost sporting arena, having staged major rugby and football finals.

Whether it is to help businesses to build productive relationships with counterparts in Cardiff, or for family and friends to keep in touch with their loved ones living and working in the city, there are excellent services offered by parcel delivery companies linking Cardiff with the rest of the UK and further afield. These have played a major role in the city’s economic rebirth, and are sure to help it grow further as its businesses seek ever more opportunities to expand.

Cardiff courier services make it easy for anyone or any business to take advantage of express mail delivery services.
