Money as payment for goods and services has its long history. It can be seen that each nation uses its own currency including banknotes and coins. For instance, the five-colon banknote of Costa Rica is characterized by Rafael Yglesia Castro, former President of Costa Rica from 1894 to 1902 and a Guaria Morada orchid, its national flower. Meanwhile, A New Zealand note for five dollars uses a yellow-eyed penguin commonly called hoiho to print on the official currency. Although banknotes are different in many parts of the world, former presidents, historical places, national flowers are popular symbols on banknotes. David Standish, author of The Art of Money, has recently unveiled the world’s most beautiful currencies based on his own opinion.
