Shaun Barratt is a self-made entrepreneur who was in fact a school dropped out. As a young boy Shaun was left alone to fend his ways after his mother passed away. Having no choice to make ends meet, Shaun worked as chef to support himself. He enrolled himself to study accounting while still working as a chef. Shaun always wanted to do something different in life and he worked hard to achieve that with all that he can.
Barratt further wanting to sharpen his accounting knowledge joined the Massey University on full-time basis. Having finished his academy Shaun joined the food giant Goodman Fielder Wattie” in Australia and also looked after their New Zealand operations.
Shaun Barratt was quick to catch up with the managing skills of running a company”s financial section and this followed his being promoted as the accountant in one of the subsidiary Pacific Foods and later to Parex Industries a manufacturer of infrastructure piping as Financial Controller.
As Barratt went on to achieve bigger responsibilities and was doing fine job in Robert Bosch, he was moved to New Zealand designated as company accountant. He then came back to Australia to look after the Bosch Trading Divisions as Controller.
The experience of working in all these sectors of industry gave Shaun Barratt the necessary edge and he was later asked to move to Germany to look after their trading division with added responsibility and soon Barratt was asked to take over as the Director of Commercial and Finance Functions.
September 2002, Shaun left Robert Bosch Australia to pursue his Masters Degree at Southern Cross University in Australia. This followed with Shaun Barratt opening his own recruitment company called “Salt” this was in association with his younger sister. Salt today has grown considerably and there are plans to open more branches across the world.
Shaun Barratt is busy today looking after the affairs of Salt and other business. He even opened a fashion store- “Maggie Potter” in Auckland Wellington and Melbourne in Australia.
He loves to be with his family but Shaun Barratt wants to acquire a doctorate, but before that he wants to make a Salt a company that spells superior service and complete customer satisfaction.
